Lloyds TSB Fitness Run (Race 5 of 5)

Mark Robinson from Lloyds TSB was very satisfied with the summer series of four mile fitness runs from the Pilot Inn in Hardwicke.

"We had record turnouts for all five races and many runners improved significantly over the series" he said.

The final run saw Stroud and district members prominent and at the halfway point reached in 11.59 five of them were in a group.

In the second half triathlete Andrew Shipton proved strongest winning in 23.25, well inside the 24 minute standard which bars him from future fitness runs.

First home in July, club mate Nick Holliday placed second also inside 24 minutes. Third was Mario McNamara in 24.12, improving a minute since July.

Stroud's Louise Little repeated her May first lady placing and Stroud set a new record with 38 runners competing.
