Midlands 12 stage road relays.
Severn AC's mens team put in a good performance to qualify for the National 12 stage road relays by finishing 13th at Sutton Park. Alex Hope got the team off to a solid start by finishing 23rd on the competitive first long leg in 29.23. Austin Blackburn, who was one of five runners making their 12 stage debut, ran well to finish his short leg in 27th (17.40). 17 year old Gareth Howells held onto 27th (18.13) and Gary Hope had the teams fastest long leg of the day (28.33) when he made up eight places to 19th. Nathan Bishop (17.06) lost just one place and Tim Dalton made up four to 14th (14.44) with the fourth equal fastest lap overall. Pete Stephens (30.42) lost one position before Josh Lilly made up two with a quick 14.53 lap after four months out through injury. 17 year old Alex Maton (17.51) held 13th as did Simon Fortnam (30.45) and John Holland (18.36). Andy Hawkins (17.52) endured a hail storm on leg 12 and lost a place to a fast finishing Bristol and West B team.
