White Horse 5k series - race two

The second Whiye Horse 5k of the summer produced its usual fast times and a host of personal bests.

Michael Johnson (Cardiff) was a runaway winner in 15.03 from Will Ferguson (CLC) who ran a PB and club record of 15.26 for second place.

Severn's James Rose made the top 10 for the first time with 16.42. Gareth Howells continued his comeback from injury in 19th (17.23), Simon Fortnam also returned from injury in 22nd with a seasons best time of 17.35. Team captain Steve Hale was 29th (18.04) and the team was completed by new boy Oliver Starkey in 36th (18.31).

The women's race was won by Gemma Turtle in 16.13. Gwen Kinsey ran a PB for fourth place (18.03).

CLC Striders won a close mens team race from Cheltenham and Bristol and West were comfortable winners of the womens race.
