Severn AC travelled to Yate for the BAL Golden Jubilee Cup Match with a young composite Gloucester Team. A strong performance from key athletes saw the team finish 5th ahead of Exeter and Newport.
Kyran Hale took 3 seconds off the club U17 record with a time of 9.08 in the 3000meters. The classy race saw him start at the back of the field but he worked his was through for a strong finish.
Wayne Powell, hampered by the fact he wasn’t wearing spikes, put in solid performances in the Javelin and Hammer Throw. In the Hammer he threw 51.51, just missing out on a win from Swansea’s Richie Wells who threw 52 flat. He then threw 48.8 to secure 3rd in the javellin, winning valuable points for the team.
Ashleigh Naylor was pleased with his 4th position in the 200m, with a time of 22.9, before helping the team to 6th position in the medley relay along with Oliver Starkey, Curtley Phillips and Mark Emmanuel.
